Such crazy long tentacles! But jellyfish like these Atlantic
sea nettles need long tentacles to catch their prey.
See, jellyfish are kind of weird. They’re plankton. I know,
when you think of plankton, you think of tiny little guys, like a certain bad
guy from a cartoon. However, plankton is anything that cannot swim against the
current (we even thought sunfish were plankton for a while!). Jellyfish need
long tentacles as they drift along, since they can’t swim for food.
